Gotcha, so you never met the interesting characters, or got involved with the story line, or got to experience the games choices and morality issues.

Let me guess, you decided Vista was garbage after 5 minutes with the new UI, decided you hated The Dark Knight after 10 minutes, and only watch the first 30 seconds of a TV show before deciding its trash?
Kromis you must be young, or at least too young to remember there was a Diablo before Diablo II ;)
i played Diablo II once, as a Sorceress, towards the end it really became annoying because that character class was designed so poorly. I beat the game and moved on.

@Bateluer:
1) i've never used vista. XP is fine for me, thanks.
2) Dark Knight was a good movie. didnt blow me away though...
3) if the first or second episodes of a TV show dont manage to interest me, yes i wouldn't bother watching.

i wrote exactly why i didnt want to continue playing. the gameplay mechanics just werent that exciting. and besides, how long does the game take to become interesting? why isnt it interesting FROM THE BEGINNING?

Oh no, I remembered that there was a Diablo. I just never played it. I jumped straight into 2 :)

I loved Diablo 1 more then Diablo2. Actually I never had the patience to finish D2, but I've finished the first one three times. Loved Hellfire too.

Why play a game you dont enjoy? Not everyone has to like the same things you do.

Borealis7 is absolutely correct though. Combat is garbage, and the skill tree is a joke. Combat is just a dull, slow clickfest. What makes a clickfest like Diablo fun is that its full of action, the action is consistent along with a great skill tree, and always makes you want that next level/ability. The Witcher has none of this.

I for one, consider the storyline to be the most important aspect of an RPG. Regardless of the storyline, it just couldnt make up for how bad the rest of the gameplay is.

Ok we get it. You hate the Witcher. That's fine. There's some things about the gameplay I didn't like that much either.

But you specifically mentioned buginess and poor perfromance and that's misinformation.

I bought the game within a month of release, patched it, and had no such problems.

I've played into chapter two and haven't seen any bugs or bad performance issues, but have had to will myself to keep on playing. Can a brother ask for a new sword at some point? Maybe some lightning damage or even a machine gun possibly? I keep playing for that new sword because I feel I am past due for one, and it'd be a waste to quit now (especially with how many people love it).

There's a long way to go still, so if you are willing yourself now, be prepared to test your will some more. Unless I missed something, I didn't receive any new sword until near the end of the game. But, you could use runes and meteorites to make some swords that are probably better than what you have.

Don't think there's any lightning damage, but try some fireballs.

After I've installed the game and played that first scene, I was almost at the verge of uninstalling it, since it gave me a first impression of a low budget crap game, with no substance at all. But I just kept on playing, since there weren't other games in that period so I had nothing else to do. And as I was playing it, in time, it became more and more interesting, until I found it to be a masterpiece of a game. You won't find a machine gun in this game, but it's impossible to dislike it. Play more and you will be rewarded.

I bought the game when it came out, applied any available patches and wasnt very pleased.

In terms of poor performance, I play the game on medium settings and get a below average fps when i can max out a game like FarCry 2, MTW2 (max options, biggest units) with a playable fps. For all the slow-down i experience in this game.. i fail to see any eye-candy, textures, or graphical features whatsoever that justify how it performs in any way. There is nothing graphically special about this game yet it plays like dirt unless you have a powerful system, or this game absolutely hates SLI(which i run off) much like WoW(sorry to mention this game, but its the only other one i've experienced that runs slower in SLI than with it disabled off a single card).

And for bugs, I had several issues which caused saved game files to corrupt, a never-ending slow debuff, and numerous quests that failed to trigger even in the 1st act. And all of these required total restarts of the game.

Maybe they're fixed now, maybe they're not, maybe i got a bad copy. But its certainly not misinformation.

I even passed down the game to a friend nearby in my barracks who absolutely loved it... so much he forgot to give it back to me when i left. :)

the only thing good about this game, is that it probably has the best intro cinematic i've ever seen in a game before.

I am not sure what u smoking, but nothing could be further from the truth.

Don't listen to this guy he is full of it plain and simple.
With EE applied, the game hasn't crash on me ONCE and I have spend maybe 50 hours on the hardest level taking my time with it. My CPU is a 2.5GHz C2D with a decent video card - GTX260. Played at 1280x1024 with 4x AA with 0 performance issues.

If you would of actually taken the time to follow the instructions on how to patch the game to the FREE EE update you would at least loose the bugs and poor performance part.

Totally, because the EE patch was out when the game first launched when i played it and uninstalled it. Read the actual posts before you start replying.

If you did not enjoy The Witcher do not post about it, or fanboi's will discredit you.

The point is , Kudelka, that op never asked about how good or how bad the game is. He never asked anyone if the game worth the money or not. He only asked about the enhanced edition patch, that is all. But you popped in and tried to convinced him not to get it, just because you disliked it. You could have just said that you didn't enjoy it, but you said "skip it". There was no need for that.

Ugh. I agreed with someone else on skipping it. Get over it. I didnt try to convince anyone to buy it.

The werent necessarily on topic but neither were any of yours.

Give it your best shot if you really want to.

You guys claiming the game is 100% flawless at launch (which is all i ever stated that i played it) and every problem i had with it was completely false is like walking into the technical support forum for any game and calling those with problems all liars. I cant think of another term to describe you at the moment besides fanatical.

It could have been just left at the fact i didnt enjoy it.

Anyways, i'm done posting in this thread and polluting it. I'd hope you do the same. Sorry to the OP.

Why are you even posting then? The OP clearly wants the EE, which you admit you did not play. I'm sure you think your comments about the game at release are relevant, but they aren't.
