If I buy the original Witcher, can I patch the game up to the Enhanced Version?

And then can I patch that to make it uncensored?

What if I buy the Witcher enhanced edition censored version, can I patch to make it uncensored?

I can just save $25 by buying the regular Witcher version for $30.

Well then you will have to settle for the non enhanced / censored version then. You cant have it all and still be cheap. I mean really...

i'd agree with skipping the game. I wouldnt buy the game if it was in the bargain bin. Save your money, youre not missing anything. Its buggy, poor performance, poor gameply.

the only thing good about this game, is that it probably has the best intro cinematic i've ever seen in a game before.

The Witcher was a great game. I don't know where the poor gameplay and buggy comes from, Koudelka. You probably didn't even played it if you think that way. Every man has his personal opinion, though.

OP, you should be able to patch it to the Enhanced Version, so go ahead and get the original Witcher.

I found a link on Gamespot's website for the enhanced patch and there is also a blood patch "that restores blood to the north american version of the game"

So yeah, if you dont want all the extra's the enhanced box offers, you can upgrade for free atleast.

It took all of 1 min with a google search to find that btw :)

Yes to both the OP's questions, you can patch it to the enhanced edition and patch in the censored content. But, like others have said, its better to just buy the full, enhanced import edition and be done with it.

The Witcher is probably the best RPG to come out in a long time, with a great story, interesting characters and dialog really make the game a must have.

I'm just going to agree with Bateluer here, The Witcher was fantastic.

Did you actually play the game or have any experience with it? Doesn't sound like it....

The Witcher is one of the best rpg I've played. I got it quite early but only played less than half of it and stopped. Finally patched it to Enhanced version and replaying it again and going to finish it for sure this time. Because I played it so long ago I can't noticed the changes in soundtrack or graphics, but for the enhanced version they added a couple new quests for free. When you download the Enhanced version, the main file and the sound track and the quest files are separate so make sure you download them all. They are available from the official Witcher website. Oh and you do need to register your copy first.

Do you even bother to read any of our posts to your thread? In my first post, i gave you a link to The Witcher enhanced edition and it lists what the package contains. Yet you still ask what is in the enhanced edition box.

I have a feeling you only read the responses that look colorful or smell nice or something lol Look at the link I gave you (again) and you even get a full picture of the entire box content if you scroll down. Please do us a favor and at least read the replies to your OP. good grief!

The Witcher Enhanced Edition
Scroll down to see package contents and look at the pics.

EDIT: I decided to add a direct copy/paste from the description in case you wont click on the link:

I own the original and purchased the enhanced edition.
The game is really worth it to me so i had no issues with buying it twice.

Im in North America, so i ended up downloading the "uncensor" patch also, which doesnt add much.

And to those that didnt like it, i'll bet you didnt play past the first chapter, because the story and characters really pick up after that.

Some of the decisions you have to make are really cool, since there is never a "right" or "wrong" decision.
Unlike most games that have the generic "good" or "evil" decisions.

i played the first act, got to that city, walked around in the sewers, killed a bird and uninstalled the game. i just didnt see any potential for improvment in the future of this game.
lets face it, the combat is a clickfest. more suitable for consoles.
the skilltree is basically 3 tiems the same thing! get more HP, get more strength, hit faster.
dont tell me i need to suffer several hours of gameplay until it gets good.
would you sit through 2 hours of a 3 hour movie just because the last hour is good but the rest is shoot-your-self boring?

i'm a big RPG fan, but i just couldnt take it anymore.
wake me up when Dragon Age gets here.

Gotcha, so you never met the interesting characters, or got involved with the story line, or got to experience the games choices and morality issues.

Let me guess, you decided Vista was garbage after 5 minutes with the new UI, decided you hated The Dark Knight after 10 minutes, and only watch the first 30 seconds of a TV show before deciding its trash?
