The Witcher - Should I still get the imported version?

Bottom line is I've almost got my new system together and I'm looking to pick up The Witcher. Is the imported (international non-US) version still the best choice due to the lack of censoring? If so, is there somewhere easy that I can pick it up? Thanks.

I picked up the one from gogamer. I have no clue why its even called "uncensored." I had to search the intarwebs to make sure that i had the "uncensored" one. Adult oriented in games apparently means PG13. Nipples on the "trophy" cards, thats all you get in "uncensored."

That being said, this is the first game in a *long* time that has brought down windows. No crash to desktop, BSOD. :|

Well, then obviously i dont have the uncensored version. Im just finishing chapter 1, no full frontal at all. This is confirmed via numerous other forums too. And yes, full frontal should be PG 13, the god damn protestant/puritan shit towards sex/sexuality is silly.

Specs:
XP SP2
X2 4400
7900 GT OC
2GB
Newest nVidia drivers.
Honestly, i think this game is just buggy as hell. My most recent bug is Shani disappearing as we head for Vizima. Just gone.

Edit: game is patched with 1.2.

You don't get to see a dyad until you have access to the Vizima Temple Quarter, thereby being able to go to the swamp.

People are over-hyping the 'adult' nature of the Euro version:

A few off-color phrases, erotic/glamour paintings that seem to not have anything to do with gameplay and just there to have a teenage oooh ahh factor, and so far one
naked green dryad.

There was an OC by me, but it is also a factory OCed card. When i BSODed it was at stock clock speeds.

From what I have read in the other thread, the US version also removed bodily dismemberment and/or reduced the gore, so it may not have been just the nudity that was censored.

The US version is censored, with several altered character models, sex-related quests removed altogether, and dismemberment removed.

Who doesn't care about Vampire Titties?

.. in all seriousness I heard there was a bit more than just the nudity that was censored. Censored things are inane, I think I can handle some adult content.

Wow, hopefully they will get it back in stock. Wonder how many they had of the UK version vs the US version. The US version is still in stock.

If you do a search you will find where you can get the localized files for the UK version.

It has nothing to do with wanting to see animated nudity and everything to do with being able to censor myself without having some sort of governmental/commercial entity doing it for me. On topic, though, I got a copy from ShockingPrice.com. Good Ebay seller (32k feedback @ 99% positive). Came to 54 or so with shipping.

W-O-W. I got this for Christmas from GoGamer and just got around to installing, patching and playing last night and played for around 2.5 hours. Man...I am not sure when I have played a more engrossing RPG. Maybe the Fallout series. The game's atmosphere and writing seem tailored to a mature audience and the environment really comes across as grim. The world just seems so alive. Also, combat is actually fun trying to get your stance and timings just right.

This is the game they strive for a fail when they sit down to make an Elder Scrolls game. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed and finished Oblivion but, at least so far, this game gives you that excited feeling when you are playing that Oblivion never could quite accomplish. It's definitely in line with Gothic I and II and I think by the end will surpass both of those based on my early impressions.

I like how people run for cover and comment on the rain.
It was annoying once though when I was trying to get to the Ferryman on the Vizima dock and a crowd was bunched on the dock under where the guards sit.
He eventually walked near.

Installing now, hopefully this will live up to its billing.

I got the US version, animated nipples aren't very important to me.

I've run into problems getting past crowds too. Found that if you briefly click on the offenders blocking your way they will spout off a quick sentance as they then walk away. Best way to clear out an area - must have bad breath or something ;)
