The Witcher Enhanced Edition crashing

It keeps crashing randomly on me, all when during me running around, the frame rate will drop, and then it will crash. I have ATi 4890 on windows 7 with November driver (catalyst version 09.11). Does anyone know how to improve this situation?
 
It Runs fine on my rig, also a 4890 but with 9.12 drivers, I would try them. I play it at 1080p everything maxed out, get 45-55 FPS. Running 64bit Vista.
 
I had problems with it at first too... I believe part of my problem had something to do with the sound driver I was using. there is a EAX hotfix, and also a patch 1.5 out for the game. I had problems getting it from the games website and can't remember where I ended up getting it from but it fixed my problem.
I also remember my audio just stopping all of a sudden, that usually pre-empted a crash.
