I'd be a lot more interested in Witcher 3 if there was a first person option like Skyrim. I like the map style, reminds me of older rpg games.

I tend to agree...wish they would have given the option. I especially notice it when in inside buildings - third person just always feels awkward inside a room.

I don't mind either way,you can always argue give users a choice via settings or options and then they will be happy regardless.

I don't think the combat style in The Witcher really lends itself to first person.

That's why you alter the style to something like Dark Messiah. A lot of 3rd person fighting styles is more about how cool it looks than actually being effective or even plausible.

honestly i dont think it looks any better than dragon age inquisition.

To me it looks better than DA:I but it never had to look better than any given game. When DA: O dropped, it was the RPG franchise, Inquisition brought it back on the right track but it didn't quite hit the spot. I find Witcher to be the deeper, more detailed and livelier world of the two. I'm hyped for the release and I'm rarely hyped for a launch, 4-5 games over the last 10 years.

Well these screenshots aren't maxed out, and are using high settings. CDPR hasn't showed maxed out settings yet, but by all reports, there is a big increase in the quality of character models and vegetation/foliage with ultra settings. There's also more tessellation and better physics as well.

All in all, DAI has nothing on the Witcher 3. The Witcher 3 is a true next gen title, whereas DAI was crossgen.

Somewhere to pre-order at good price? I think it´s an incredible game, through the videos that I've seen ... even Geralt´s beard will grow 😵

GoG has it the cheapest. It is 20% off if you own both previous Witcher games (15% off if you own one, and 10% off if you don't own any). Plus it has the most extra content, and is completely DRM free to boot.

Damn...just bought on Steam...should have looked on GoG!!
Is it possible to get a refund for a pre-order on Steam?

EDIT: Just did a refund from Steam and bought on GoG. Paid $40 cause I had W2.

I'll be paying $70 or $80 for the standard version here in Australia for the DVD. Can't be bothered downloading it on this poky connection. The super fun collectors edition is $200 in store.

$15.79 from GoG themselves, curse my brother for paying less than half what I paid.

Of all the developers out there, CDPR is one of the few that really deserve the full support of consumers. If you like CDPR and their games, I suggest that paying the full price for the game is the best way to show your support..

Using cheap tricks like this may also have the potential to backfire, as CDPR is aware of this loophole, so you don't know what they may do.
