Damn, this might be one of the few games I'll gladly pay for at full price. Maybe even pre-order.

I still remember the company giving out Witcher 2's extended edition for free after release rather than packaging it as some retarded DLC.

That said, I really hope the open world aspect doesn't make the game shallow. One of the biggest gripes I had about Skyrim(outside of the combat mechanics) was how unrewarding it felt in accomplishing quests.

I also hope they expand the combat to integrate spells and potions a bit better. The sword combat was fluid and nice, butiIt never felt rewarding when I tried weaving spells in the middle of combat for Witcher 2(except for the shield one).

Well...it looks like they hired a really good CGI studio to do their trailers (at probably better than $1K per second).

Now, I would love to see some more gameplay!

Ever have that uneasy feeling about a new game, especially a sequel (to a masterpiece, in this case), where you try and temper your excitement because a lot of devs fuck them up, so you're all like "yeah I'll just wait and see"?

404 uneasiness not found. My body is ready.

I hope the next step after Witcher 3 is.....

Witcher Online.
It certainly could be ok, if the world would have only handful of witchers and most players would be villagers or normal soldiers who would have hard time killing any monsters..
That and all choices affecting world wide storyline.

Reset the world every time there is no player characters left or big bad has won. 😉

A Witcher HBO series would be nothing short of incredible.
Line the orphans up, I'll start punching them to make this happen!

SWG tried that with only have very few Jedis and everyone hated it. I don't play a Star Wars game to be a guy who sits in a cantina buffing people all day so they can wear there armor... Oh wait, people actually did that.

I was actually serious about Witcher Online 😀 But I enjoy MMOs and there has been nothing decent MMO wise since GW2, which was decent but had nothing to do in the end-game.

The Witcher world is really interesting and compelling and would make for a cool persistent world imo. But yes, it would have nothing story wise as MMOs are just not very good for story imo. They're all about character progression.

But, it wouldn't work. You either get a ton of Witchers running around and that completely breaks the lore or you only let a very select few become a Witcher, which people hate. What makes the story and world interesting is that you're a Witcher; hated, feared, very few in number, and completely a badass. That doesn't work well in an MMO setting. The Elder Scrolls Online is going to suffer from that as well. What is a world with 1,000,000 people destined to be that ultimate hero.

That happened with the star wars mmo. Becoming a Jedi was nearly impossible in the original game that was shut off.

The CGI trailer was so cliche that I ended up hating it.

Women in distress. Bad guys all around. Dark mysterious good guy appears. Good guy wipes out bad guys. Women is saved. Yawn.

Plenty of eye rolls where had during the viewing.

This is a Witcher thread, let's just stop this nonsense MMO talk.

A Witcher show would be awesome no doubt, but you need a soap opera format like Game of Thrones to really work as a TV show.
