Hello,
I've spent the last few days trying to find a solution to my problem without any luck, the only thing is that I've narrowed it down to be a problem with my nvidia gtx 765m card/drivers/config. I'll start with running you through my specs quickly:
Clevo Laptop
Windows 10 64bit
Intel Core i7 4700MQ
16gb RAM
Intel HD Graphics 4600 and GTX 765M with NVIDIA Optimus.
My issue depicts itself like this; I am playing the game through Steam so when i either doubleclick the game or push the Play button within Steam it loads and starts up, but the only thing I see is a black screen and no mouse cursor, I do hear sound though and if push any keys on my keyboard and such i hear distant click as if I've pushed a menu button within the game, but I still don't see anything whatsoever. Here's the kicker; if i in the Nvidia Control Panel force The Witcher 3 to start with my Integrated graphic card Intel 4600, it will start and function normally, as soon as i start the game I see the game credits and logos and I will enter the menus, however, the game is far from playable with the integrated graphics obviously.
As soon as i switch to either Auto pick GPU or force it to pick my dedicated nvidia card i'll get the black screen again and i won't be able to play.
Here's a list of thing I've tried so far without avail:
Reinstalled the game, verified the game cache in steam multiple times, A fresh install of both old and the newest nvidia drivers (361.43), vsync on/off, fully updated windows, repaired the installation of the vcredist.exe located in the witcher 3 folder, tried fullscreen, windowed mode and borderless window within the game.
Those things are the ones I remember off the bat, so I might've forgotten some of the solutions I've tried.
So now I am turning to you guys in the hope that someone has that one brilliant idea to make it work.
Thanks in advance!
Happy new year, and best wishes.
