The Witcher 2

Holy shit. No idea how long that link's gonna stay on YouTube, but check out some early vids from Witcher 2 gameplay, new additions to the gameplay, a total graphical overhaul and some mentioning of technology used (Havok for physics for example). Looks like this was a promotional vid to find a distributor outside of Central Europe - so it's a really nice vid with plenty of comments from CDP's designer. Looks amazing ! Can't wait

I hope they use the same voice actor for Geralt in the sequel. One of the reasons I liked The Witcher (and also Thief) was because your character was a genuine badass and had no misconceptions about his badassedness.

I just hope combat is more engaging this time around. I really liked Witcher but found the click based combat pretty weak. Yahtzee said it: "to kill someone you click on them. feeling adventurous? click on them again."

I think they also need to streamline potions, and do better with descriptions of their effects. I found it inelegantly implemented to put it mildly.

Still, very much looking forward to this. It's a good time for PC rpgs lately. Fallout3, Witcher, ME2, Dragon Age, Last Remnant, Alpha protocol.

It looks like the same old combat system unfortunately, which is my biggest complaint. I hope they overhaul it one way or another.

I really enjoyed the Witcher and I can't even really pinpoint on any one reason why. Maybe it's that, the entire time I was playing it, I felt as if the developer was respecting me as a adult gamer and not trying to filter or dumb anything down.

In any case, I'll be buying this on launch day.

The voicing in the original Polish language version of The Witcher was great. I prefered playing it in Polish with subtitles to listening to the poor or mediocre English versions.

Yep. The voiceover they had in the trailer for Geralt made him sound like some developer just reading the subtitles. I really liked his voice in the first one. It was just...badass.

The original game was just awesome, though. Practically no hand-holding, easy to get yourself into trouble, etc. When they say "alchemy is necessary" on hard mode, they aren't kidding.
