The Witcher 1 save game import question

Hey guys,

This is a 2 part question.

1. Those who imported a save from The Witcher 1 - have you been able to tell in any way what kind of information/decision/etc was transferred over?

2. For those who are playing The Witcher 2 without an import - how are they implementing your decisions/information from The Witcher 1? Are they asking you questions or do you have to "remember" what you did or something?

If there's a post somewhere with an extensive list or a guide or w/e, that would work too.

I can't attest to #1, but #2 is somewhat limited. They basically give you a "default" backstory to work from.

Along these lines, is there a website that hosts save games with various decisions made? There's one for Mass Effect saves so I'm assuming there'd be one for this too as there's less decisions that transfer (like class, gender etc).

I've seen references to a site like that, but I've not been able to find it. I haven't tried that hard though.

I don't think there is a save repository. Best I could find when I went looking was a thread on a random forum. Doesn't matter all that much though, from what I can tell. The carry-over equipment gets outdated very quickly, and the plot elements don't seem to matter much.

The people on the Steam forums for TW2 have made a thread with links for various saves. I haven't read it all or tried any of it myself (playing through the first one again personally), but you should be able to find a save there I think.

I've really only seen two impacts so far from importing my save:

Foltest will mention if Adda is alive or dead

You get some gear from the previous game (which is easily replaced in Chapter 1).

None of your other choices in TW1 seem to make a difference.

I also had all my moon,fire,sun runes carried over too.
