So I know why the Kima character in The Wire always looks so miserable. She grew up in a ghetto and was traumatized by the experience. She initially had trouble remembering her lines as well. Hopefully she is a lesbian in real life too. Can't imagine any man getting it up for her.

The Wire feels like from another universe, when it comes to TV shows. Deep, socially conscious, not formulaic, not cliche ridden, thoughtful, interesting. I simply don't know how the heck they managed to make something like this, or how did it even get past the approval process for the production.

Just wait until the episode where Juice is in jail watching The Shield on TV.
Shield was great. I watched all of SOA on Netflix and now I have to finish season 7 since they finally put it on there.

To me this show never got good, I didn't even finish it. 4 seasons into it and I called it quits, so I cant say I didn't give it a fair chance.

Its definitely a more slower paced starting up. Also too political if you are not into that. At the time I had nothing else to watch so I kept with it. Overall I liked it but some parts were just very boring.
