the wire = best show on tv?

The Wire is a great show, I've been hooked on it since Season 1. I wish more people tuned in to great television like this so HBO keeps making more seasons. With Oz long gone, the Sopranos almost done for, besides CYE, The Wire is all that's left.

Point a camera at a blank wall, interrupt it every 8 minutes for 6 minutes of commercials, and you've got a show better than 98% of the siht they play... fewer commercials too 😛

Edit: I r badd spelar

did you know that 73.954% of ALL statistics are made up on the spot?

... weird...

pff, all blanket statements are wrong~

I got season 1 from netflix a few weeks ago. I've had HBO for 2 years, but I can't remember ever actually seeing The Wire on HBO. Season 3 is on right now, but I don't want to start watching that until I watch season 2.

Season 2 has nothing to do with season 3

just so you know

i watched the wire season 1 religiously.

then i lost touch and have no idea whats going on. all the characters are different

i watched episode 1 of season 1. didn't think it was that good. watched episode 2 just to make sure. loved it. now you can take the wire away from me when you pry it from my cold dead hands.

best show on tv!

oh, btw-- if you go back and read David Simon's book "Homicide: A Year On the Killing Streets" (nonfiction book in which he spent a year with a real homicide unit in Baltimore) you'll see that some of the minor cases and characters in season 1 are based on real life events.

NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING is better than the sopranos. Its more than a TV show, its like an alternate universe for me.

Yes, but for me deadwood has the potential to upset it. Sopranos is in the top 5 for me.

Season 2 has some plot elements that relate to seaon 1 and 3. I wouldn't recommend skipping it.
