a lot. The fact that you know about it means it shouldnt be used anymore.

The best use was in the new tron. They did a digital bit reduction to it for one of the guys deaths.

The Howie Scream is better, not in as many movies as Wilhelm but is more distinguishable, plus it was in the opening for 'Aahhhhhh! Real Monsters'

Write to Congress. Fine studios that use the Wilhelm Scream.

They do the same thing with every desert scene ever...always hear the bird-of-prey scream. Or A113 (look it up if you're not familiar). Tropes are fun to read about:

Auditorily bludgeoning the audience to establish the setting.
"THEY ARE IN A DESERT DO YOU UNDERSTAND NOW???"

Fast Headcrab?
Once was enough for Ravenholm.

Was mildly amused. My brother might find it funny though. I can't remember the game, could have been Command & Conquer that had a really funny scream.

Also, I noticed the sound effect when a door was opened in the movie Unbroken was used in the N64 game Goldeneye, the level facility.

The reason why that sound is in plated in my head is that you knew when you heard that door to check your six. LOL Anytime I heard that door open in a level I knew a sentry was near by.

What world do you live in where you hear it multiple times per day. Lol.

Do you even have a TV or Internet? I have heard it today many times and I have yet to even turn the TV on. :sneaky:

I rarely watch live TV except for the news but I've got a movie collection and I've watched Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead and Stargate SG-1/Atlantis in the last year with occasional movies. The only days I don't hear/notice it are the days I'm too busy to even turn on the radio.

I know exactly what you're talking about - I hear that sound effect everywhere. It is in EVERYTHING!

Whenever I hear the scream it makes me want to shut off the TV. Cant take the film seriously from that point on.
