The whole Dreamers mess. Why tie up congress with this? They are not even legal citizens.

Its sad that they could get deported because they are not legal citizens but in the end they are not US citizens. Why are politicians working so hard on behalf of people who are not even Americans?

Why not just let it go and move on, tough shit yeah life is not fair but in the end there are lots of other important issues that needs attention.

If they do end up getting deported it would probably end up lowering the amount of illegal crossing etc who felt they just need to live here long enough to get a pass.

Let them get deported and then they can file the paperwork to become citizens, those who show a clean non criminal background and an education can then be allowed in.

Why not let them stay since they have committed no offense and often are contributing greatly to society?

How do you know they are contributing greatly to society? So why even bother with immgration laws, why not just allow people to come in from anywhere anytime and however many want to come in?

Why not just enforce the laws that exist and then those who are beneficial can work towards coming in via the legal methods. If we start making exceptions en masse then our immigration laws will start falling apart once people see they are not enforced anymore?

The impact of making them leave far outweighs that of letting them stay. Seems an easy choice here really.

News reports. Some are Doctors, some are current or ex Military, many are Business owners, many own Homes, some have families, etc etc etc. They are often as American as you are and have no memory or experience of anything else. Your suggestion is just stupid and gives no thought to whether it makes a lick of sense.

Deport them... to where? Do we even have official records of where they all come from?
And... to a place they may have never truly lived or grown attached or accustomed to?
Compared to America, a land most grew up in, they don't belong in whatever society you want to throw them into.

Why? Virtually all haven’t done anything illegal.

So, you have no problem with screwing over innocent people brought to this country as children & raised American. No problem taking away their right to work & raise their American citizen children, either. Real people. Real families. Real lives. Not an abstraction. Quite why you want to do that remains vague.

The GOP, of course, just can't pass up a hostage taking opportunity, either, and Trump gave 'em the Dreamers.

Trump is using them as hostages to lower LEGAL immigration.

To that I say, ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Why the fuck should we take rights away from Americans who follow the law?

THIS WHOLE THING IS JUST A PANDER TO WHITE SUPREMACISTS WHO WANT A WHITE ONLY COUNTRY.

To protect them, all Dems had to do was fund the wall.

The GOP doesn't want to fund the wall any more than Dems. They control the agenda & can force votes on anything they want. So far, nothing.

Says the Canadian with far more restrictive immigration laws than we have in the USA. How about if Trudeau let's us send them up to BC? All of them?

Unfortunately not accurate anymore since Trump is demanding a huge cut in legal immigration in addition to border security/wall money. The senate just voted on his plan...it got 40 votes, the weakest showing of any proposal they took up.

Why are politicians working so hard? Not sure what you're talking about, since they don't seem to be doing anything. But if we wanted to make things easier, they could just pass a clean DACA bill and put it on the President's desk. Dare him to veto the bill. But no, Republicans in Congress either don't have the stomach to defy Trump, or have decided to put party before country.

The only difference between them and you is that you moved to this country when you were conceived and they moved when they were children. You didn't pick where to live just like they didn't. The problems they would have moving to a foreign country are the same problems you would have - no friends, no job, can't speak the language, etc.. They are no more illegal immigrants than you are!

You guys. You don't know how to handle illegals. Down here in australia we use the military to stop them from entering the country then we either turn their boats around or send them to camps in other countries. My favourite incident was when a boat full of refugees sunk and they were rescued by a passing container ship. Only to have the aus government tell them they couldn't come into aus waters and it was indonesias problem.

The captain kept sailing and the government used a special forces counter terrorism unit to seize the ship. Overkill? Maybe but SF get used for various domestic actions that are deemed to risky for law enforcement down here. Anyway I digress.

Where was I? Ah yes. You guys are amateurs until you are using the armed forces to protect your borders from the evil doers (refugees and other brownies) then what do you expect?
