The irony is that those kids are actors.
Whose parents put them through that (or at least allow it) before they can understand everything and the full consequences (or benefits) of child acting.

Saying the pledge of allegiance, though, is harmless. Pretty easy to renounce the nation or its ideals later on if you so choose. We do have that freedom living here.
