Do any of you like these White Stripes?
I've listened to this CD about ten times. I'm trying to figure out why people listen to this band. It's a terrible album that has no redeeming qualities other than it's something 'different' from the mainstream. Complete garbage and it gets an F from me.

I haven't heard much of the new stuff yet, but from what I have heard it's not as good as the old stuff. If you go back and listen to De Stijl you should get a better feel for why there was a lot of hype surrounding them. Specifically Hello Operator and Death letter are two tracks to check out.
 
The White Stripes are actually very good in my opinion. Their new album is a bit of a catch-on (more so than their previous) but I actually am starting to enjoy it very much. "Take, Take, Take" and "Forever For Her (Is Over For Me)" are great songs.
 
Yes, they are terrible. I have also tried to listen to their albums and figure out why people listen to them. Noobs seems to marvel that they are awsome for a 2 person band....Hello....Local H was tens times better than this band. What astounds me more is that a guitar magazine called their guiatrist one of teh best of all time? WTF????? What as he done that a 10 year old hasn't done?

Nah, so many bands today are listened to only because of the marketing behind it. the latest is the All American Rejects.

They had some good tunes on their first album. The Last Song is a gem!

The only newer band that I've really started to like is The Killers (with the exception of Indie Rock n' Roll, the whole CD is pretty darn good).

My musical tastes are wide and varied. Reggie and the Full Effect, Tool, All, Ben Folds, The Cure, Death Cab, Duran Duran, The Faint, Filter, Garbage, Get Up Kids, Atmosphere, (Old) Korn, 50 Cent, Wu Tang, JayZ/Linkin Park (seperate they suck, together I like em), Nine Inch Nails (although I didnt care for With Teeth)

The list goes on.

All American Rejects' First album? It was a 'meh'. It was not terrible, but it was not great. It was bearable. That move along sone they have now....pure marketing barf.
 
I haven't bought any White Stripes albums despite the critical acclaim showered on them.

I downloaded the radio hits (free) and enjoy them but haven't been persuaded to spend money on their music.
 
I havn't listened to the new album.

All of their albums prior to this absolutely rock.
 
I haven't heard much of their stuff, but I do really like "We are going to be friends" from the beginning of Napoleon Dynamite. It's just such a cute song.
