The Water Release Valve thread

A spigot is the one that sticks out of the wall on the outside of my house.
A faucet is the one that sticks out of my sink/tub.
 
I always thought it was flawcet. It just never came up in normal conversation, so what I thought I heard once as a small child just stuck with me. It wasn't until I was a senior in high-school that someone caught my mistake. I was teased quite a bit for that.
