I'm not religious in the slightest. But I think they should have been left alone assuming they weren't blocking an exit or something similar.

I can't possibly imagine why a security guard might overreact to a group of Muslims kneeling in prayer on the observation deck of the most famous building in Manhattan. A real head scratcher there...
