The complete lack af any intellect in the "war for oil" argument amazes me.

That's the thing, even though this is humor, we saw thousands of brainless parrots this weekend making these kind of claims.
Hell, one of the organizers of the protests was on a news channel spouting this very "war for oil" bullsh!t.

Yeah then you see all the pro-war people saying it's all about the oil for France and Germany.
Take a joke and calm down.

Hey, we all need to vent now and again. Gimme a break here.
And to be honest, I thought it was all about arms sales for Germany and France.

Please explain how oil companies will benefit from this?
They will never own the rights to oil fields in the ME, so that argument is invalid.
They will not profit from LOW oil prices, so that argument is invalid too. They would actually benefit from more demand and shorter supply, because higher prices means higher profits. Therefore, American oil companies should be anti-war, if anything. They'd reap HUGE profits if the entire ME shut down it's oil supply.

I don't know anything about his "Y2K BS" but I do "buy" much of his argument here. The US government will use oil as a tool to manipulate OPEC and regimes in the mideast...that's just obvious.
