The War On Democracy

The War on Democracy, a documentary on Democracy around the world. John Pilger an Australian journalist delves into U.S. involvements, public or otherwise, in foreign democracies. Many examples of how the United States foreign policy has used the CIA to change public opinion in other countries about their democratically elected leaders because it was a "national security" issue (read that as "for our economic benefit"). Watch and be critical but be prepared for your jaw to drop.

"The great awakening has arrived. And I think Victor Hugo, Let's end with him. I'm with him on this. Victor Hugo wrote this: 'There is nothing so powerful as an idea whose time has come.' The American empire has reached its end and the world must now be governed by the rule of law, of equality, of justice, of fraternity." - Hugo Chavez

its a war on the constitution... democracy is just a term

That war has already been fought and lost. See the Civil War for that then add in the Patriot Act as whip cream. Mmmm tasty dead Republic.

And LMFAO @ 4 people who say I won't watch it and then there are 4 that say its a bad documentary. Coincidence? I think not. People get a grip. Forming an opinion before knowing the facts is ridiculous. :|

Good Documentary that shows the cold hard truth of US Government Foreign Policy and its' contradictions to American Values.

One weak part, IMO, was the treatment of Modern day Chile. Certainly the past under Pinochet was a dark period, but the criticisms of the Present were poorly established. I really don't know the Economic situation in Chile, but the Documentary seemed to give more evidence of Success, rather than the failure it seemed to suggest.

Recommended.

The failure is the inequality between the people. That is the essence of the film.
