bought a new m/b, e6600 and a nice tower.
pretty nice kit, i do agree.
but you get people saying 'why don't you get an i357
yeah, plus motherboard, memory and all that!!!

Congrats on the new equipment - it is nice. Just yesterday I was considering a similar set up - but just now - can not afford even that. 😉
 
An e6600 has a nice upgrade path. You can:

  1. Get a nice, cheap cooler, such as this one, add some Arctic Silver, and overclock like crazy.
  2. Upgrade to a quad-core processor later, such as a Q9550. Then overclock it.
  3. Don't forget [thread=2101308]the difference a GPU can make[/thread]. I've been weighing my options for about 16 months, LOL! I'm currently thinking about a GTX460/768MB, but I'd like to at least learn the Radeon HD6xxx architecture.

Nice new rig you've got 🙂, IIRC the E6600 you have is the Pentium version which ,again IIRC, is the same as my 2nd rig, checkout the o/c I got from it 😀 (see sig,E5200).
