I dont think that guy in the cabin or the head if terminus (garreth?) are dead. Two altercations upcoming.

Also, embarassed when a newbie to the show asked me Sunday, "can the zombies walk up stairs?"

derpface.jpg.

I cant remember if the show ever dealt with that? Did they show it in the roof episode in season 1? Or do they just drag themselves up?

Also has the series creator ever said whether they can cross major water bodies?
Pretty sure they can walk up stairs since yeah, they did get to the roof of that building and Daryl's brother had to saw off his arm to get away.

As far as crossing major water areas, not sure.

Maybe I'm a sucker, but I thought the first episode was awesome. Even Carol going all Schwarzenegger, which was kind of silly, was great plus I thought the reactions from Daryl and Rick when they saw here again were awesome.

I have a feeling this was probably the best episode of the whole season, but I am very happy they did the big Terminus blow-up right away and did not force us to tough out most of the season there waiting.

Fun hour of television overall.

And I think the scientist guy is just some crazy guy and has no clue about a cure.

I agree with this, I think he isn't a fighter and instead of learning how - he made up a story so others would protect him - a survival tactic - time will tell.

Agreed. It was a great episode and probably the best season opener yet. I just hope they didn't blow half the season's budget on it so that we get stuck with a boring aftermath for the rest of the season.

With the ratings they got last season I'm sure the budget is somewhere in the neighborhood of whatever the fuck they ask for. :D

I think this was the best episode of the show, period.

I would almost have to agree. That trough scene was pretty intense.
I seriously thought they were going to off Glen in the season premier which would have been great from a 'anyone can die at anytime' perspective, but didn't figure they would.

Really? I thought the beginning of that scene was pretty predictable. I had a feeling they were going to be interrupted when they finished with the no named actors.

Still, it was a pretty intense opening scene.

Yea. The Walking Dead is currently the biggest show on TV at the moment. I don't think anything comes even close.

Oh I agree, you could tell as soon as
You saw the order they were in and what side they started on. But Glen still could have went either way just to add some oomph to it.

It's funny that The Penguin was the first guy in the line. Buh-bye Penguin!

While I agree. If you are familiar with the comics. You know that main characters can and do die. While the show has deviated from it, they too have shown main characters can and will die. So you can never be too sure.

I don't recall that... Which episode?
wow. how do you search for that.
There were two episodes I think where they were dropped off a pier. I want to say beginning of season 4. There were two or three off the pier in the end. Maybe the Governor put one over too or a Mexican dude.
When there was the scene with the little girl on a bank of a river playing, the zombies on the other side were no threat because of the river current sweeping them away.

As a comparison, while it sounds good by design, if anyone watched the show Misfits, they were regularly killing off the main characters. The first and some of the 2nd season were great, but at a point, the show was just no longer enjoyable because they killed off everyone you liked and replaced them with new not as likeable characters. If you do it, you have to do it right.

Ah... The one with the Governor looking into the lake from the pier, he put him there. Killed the dude (not in the head, of course), chained him to some weights, and dropped him off the pier.

I don't believe we've seen walkers successfully navigate water yet.

Correct. It's theoretical. Under the right conditions, they can make a transit. I would suggest never swimming in murky water.
