I caught part of one of those Walking Dead behind the scenes specials and it seemed like the actors were always on pins and needles when they get a new script worried that their time has come. Then again, they could have been acting... :hmm:

Hmmm, maybe. What season is that in regards to? I'm guessing the big wigs of the show (Andrew Lincoln, etc) have contracts that guarantee them some amount of episodes or something. If not, then perhaps they just sign for a set amount of money per season regardless of episodes that they are in, which still really shouldn't put somebody on edge seeing as your promised a certain amount of cash up front.

i'd like carl to do one of his reckless "off on his own big boy self" moves and get chomped on the ankle.

we'll have to hear another "CAAARRRRLLLLLLLL" from Rick but at least it'll only be one last time.

I wouldn't mind that. It would likely lead to another mental breakdown by Rick, but with Carol and Daryl (that rhymes!) it could be balanced out.

All the actors professed to being in love with being on the show. They all have a ceremony after a cast member dies off in the show. It seems like cash isn't really what concerns them.

Haha that's funny. Yeah I never really watch those "behind the scenes" things, that's a cool fact.

I still think though at this point, killing off major people will ruin their fan base, and would lose AMC money.

so glad i havent read the comics so i can just enjoy the show for what it is.

dat trough scene!

i read the comics and still enjoy the show. its far enough apart that it doesn't really spoil anything. besides, unlikely as it is, they could make it so that Eugene DOES know something.

Some less obvious notes:

The first guy to get slaughtered at the trough was Sam. Carol and Rick met him and his girlfriend holed up in a house. Rick gave Sam a watch, as he and his girlfriend went to gather some fruit. (They found the girl being eaten, but didn't wait around for Sam.) Also, that was the watch that Carol picked up from the table in Terminus.

Also... The dude on the slab being butchered was Gareth's brother. He died in the firefight with Rick's group during the Season 4 finale.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I call bull shit! This is something people say to not appear greedy. Lets see if AMC offers the $175 per episode filmed and a handful of Starbucks gift cards if they keep doing it.
They're probably routing to survive to a 7th season to get residuals'.
Death ceremony sounds fun.

Also... The guy with the face tattoos that they rescued from the box (momentarily, before he was eaten) was the same guy who we saw in the flashback who terrorized the Terminus residents.

tried to watch Z nation, but couldn't get past the zombie baby.

oh it gets better. Amish zombies and last week the old character got a zombie stoned. I cant figure out if the show wants to be serious or the producers simply accept they cannot duplicate the Walking Dead with the budget they have.

Sadly, the show deviates from the comic strip. For instance the baby and the Asian guy should already be dead.

But this is a good thing. A lot of fans would who read the comics would not watch the show if it followed the story 100%. I am not normally a comic reader... but do read the walking dead comics. Obviously the story is way ahead in the comics version... so it would kind of be disappointing to watch the show knowing what will happen each episode.

I don't think it is supposed to be. It's made by that same company that does all the c-movie plot theiving movies (anchor bay). The thing is though, the show is so bad it's good. The last episode had a Z-nado! One of the best lines was

Watching a tornado coming at them with zombies flying around:
"Are those what I think they are?"
"Well, they aren't sharks!"

lmao.

I guess I like the humor in it and find it more enjoyable than TWD has been for some time. While this first episode of TWD's season was good, I'm prepping myself for a bunch of very slow filler drama for the next 5 episodes before we get another good one.

No, Glenn dies later in the comics. I believe the show was using foreshadowing to show how Glenn dies in the future, via the trough scene.

All this talk about the comics in this thread is out of line.

Can you guys please not keep spoiling this for those of us who dont read the comics but would like to enjoy and discuss the tv show without spoilers from the freakin' comic books?

Perhaps i'm mistaken and this is not a thread for the TV show but rather a thread for season 5 comic books. Which is it?

Have you not been watching TV in the past 5 years. That's about spot on.

Complaining about it year after year, show after show, season after season, episode after episode doesn't really make sense though. If someone really didn't like it, they'd stop watching. Bitching and whining about the same things every time is just idiotic.

Ah, with the bat scene at the trough.

Could he be gone at the end of this season?

The point in question is something I've brought up maybe ONCE when the character was introduced, and that was because it was shoehorned in an made zero sense. I might have given similar opinions on the matte regarding ME2, because that also had terrible writing for that character's part and it was offensive as a decent person that one could not be supportive of a crew member in a painful emotional state without it being sexual. You are either a dick to him or you try to fuck him. There is no grey area, which is my biggest complaint about BioWare in the last 10+ years.
