The villains for Spider-Man 3 will be Hobgoblin, Sandman, and...

Haven't read comics in ages...what's the difference between the Hobgoblin and the Green Goblin? I'm assuming the Hobgoblin will be Defoe's kid in the movie, but is that the way it went in the comics?
 
How is the scrawny dork from That 70's show going to play Venom? It's Eddie Brock that turns into Venom right? Wasn't he a huge linebacker size guy? Not some twiggy chess nerd! I just dont see it.

The article said that Grace was "bulking up" for the role. That's a whole helluva lot of bulking up. He's like Tobey Maguire's twin....

In the cartoon Harry Osbourne was the Hobgoblin too. Never read the comic so I don't know, but I'm guessing thats the way it went there too.

I'm not sure that's right. In the comic and 90's cartoon, the green goblin was played by Harry and Norman Osbourne. The hobgoblin was a mercenary hired to kill Spiderman (or something like that).

i thought Harry was just another incarnation of the Green Goblin... i thought the hobgoblin was just some random person who stumbled onto the equipment...

Harry Osbourne was the Green Goblin reincarnated in the comics. The Hobgoblin was a mercenary/thief whom the elder Osbourne gave all the toys.

I'm uncertain about Topher as Venom. I think he would make for a decent Carnage, more wirey and violently insane, but Venom is a friggin tank..

I'm betting that when Topher transforms into Venom his size will quadruple....seriously, the more I think of Topher's wirey frame I can't see him bulking up anywhere close to Brock's size.

He does fit in with Sam Raimi's casting concept of getting ordinary looking people for Spiderman roles though.

Agreed on both points. I used to get them mixed up. And for the former, that's what steroids are for. 🙂

 
i cant see Grace as Venom. i really cant.

so all 3 of them will be villains in this one? or will they delay Franco's Goblin transformation to #4?

Kirsten Dunst will have no role in this one i bet you. she's all giddy with Peter Parker now, there's no more story on that side...

Even at his age, I would prefer Bruce of Topher for Venom. However, he could steal the movie from the other actors.
