My father is dead set on getting that one and I am getting mixed opinions about it so I was told to come here. I just want to know if it's good for gaming. Since my father would just use it for some pictures and web browsing he really doesn't care about ghosting, but I do.

#1. Including a Link is generally a good idea when asking about a specific product as monitor naming is very confusion

This Monitor?

#2

thats a 8ms TN panel type (Iso 8ms, less than 178 viewing angles, relatively low constrast for brightness level (450/280))

Having no personal experience with the monitor
It should have fairly decent response with a maximum somewhere between 20-25ms to a minimum at ISO specification at 8-12ms. Many people are not bothered by response times abover 30ms (actual, not the reported specs), and many more are not bothered if response is less than 20ms. Some are however bothered by any response time over 8ms (and there are no LCDs that can deliver this consistently)

There are better screens out there for gaming, but there are also significantly worse screens. The viewsonic VA721 is the middle to upper middle for this purpose.

Looks like a great deal if you're looking for a low-priced monitor. The Samsung 740B (DVI) is probably better but it's not worth the $100 price difference, unless you're really willing to pay that.
