You can't run it on modern machines. You get the blue MS logo (the first screenshot) then it crashes. No mouse support.

I succeeded in getting it to the menu/desktop/whatevcer you wanna call it on an XP1700 (FAT16 partition) running within WinXP as a DOS app. I suspect if I actually installed and booted an era version of DOS, it would work a wee bit better. But still definitely no PS/2 mouse support. PS/2 keyboard is a maybe.In fact, if I ever get a harddrive for my 386. Need ISA IDE board! The archaic drive connection ain't workin for me (Probably because the drive is dead...), and my mac SCSI drives don't have ID settings so it's a PITA to use them. Wait... I have a Quantum HardCard! OMFG. I need to try it.

Do I get a cookie if I make it work?

apple ][. ][+, //e, ProDos, Amiga 3000, FreeBSD, VAX/VMS (at school), MSDOS->6.22, Windows 1, 1.01, 2, 3, 3.11WFW a long time, Win95OSR1, Win98Lite, then XP Pro....

Used TandyDos or whatever, a little Warp, a little PC-DOS, a little CPM, Macintosh a bit...whatever came on a Tandy model 3 and 4, probably more.

my dad has a copy of window 1 lying around here somewhere. we never used it though, it was always DOS back in those days. We used 3.1 for some time, it was actually fairly stable for the stuff we used it for. I skipped 95 and have since used 98, ME, 2000, and XP Pro.

6.22 was designed to be used with windows I believe so by default you would have a GUI.

I think it was a way of getting those not accepting windows to finally cave in....

If you think about it, the next DOS was integral with Windows.

Word. Used GEOS on a C64. I was one screwed up 8 year old but I thought that the paint program with pixels the size of a rock was awesome.
