I am just curious, given all these forum sections, what is the very first post ever made, and do we still have members from way back then that are still posting today?

Seems like there are lots of old posts from the default date of '01-01-1970 12:00 AM' and when you click on it, there is no content, so, I assume those got corrupted, like this one: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=191214 which is the oldest post I can find.

I don't know what it was but I bet it was one hell of a troll post.

I first went to the original AnandTech site on Geocities in mid to late 1997 when I first got online. Whether the forums were started in '97 or early '98 I don't recall. But it wasn't long after the site attracted national attention through a newspaper article which was in '97. I joined right in the beginning under a different username. I requested a username change and got no response so I just created a new one.

Someone would have to dig up forum posts from when it was on Geocities to have the "first" post.

You guys are supposed to be tech enthusiasts. Look at the URL at the top of this page. t=2,464,526. Think about it. Though, I'm not sure what happened to the posts from 1999 until 2000. The posts from the original site were (I'm led to believe) lost in the migration to Fusetalk in 1999.
