I disagree. The gimme jokes are done well because they come out of characters who I think are well defined and unique. The more subtle humor comes into play in the action sequences which are often funny and also kinda cool. The whole Johnny Quest style knock-off idea is done perfectly IMO. But maybe I'm just laughing at things that aren't funny 😛

A well-done fart joke is still just a fart joke. I can count on vastly different and equally absurd comedic devices from AHTF and Sealab and Robot Chicken and rarely do they seem to need to go for the cheap gag.

Venture Bros definitely has some upsides and some chucklers, but of the "new" Adult Swim comedies, that's the one that I cancelled on my Tivo.

I think it is loads better than tom goes to the mayor.

LOL! OK, TGTM is so unbelievably awful that I never even BOTHERED to Tivo it after seeing a couple episodes. I don't really like Venture Bros....but it's not AWFUL like TGTM. 😀

I :heart: the venture brothers, but none of my friends who love other Adult Swim shows like it, so I predict an early demise for this classic, considering its obvious high production costs compared to simpler to produce shows (such as ATHF).

No kidding it's bad. But whenever I see the promo with Tom (or is it the mayor?) dancing with Michael Ian Black, I crack up for some reason.

🙁 That would be such a shame. I like Aqua Teen just like the rest of the 20 year-old males out there, but its starting to get tired. The Venture Brothers brought something fresh to Adult Swim. I'm looking forward to the new show that starts next Sunday, I think its called Stroker and Hoop? Looks like it shares some of the production values of Venture Bros, but is more low brow. Kind of a compromise between VB and ATHF.
