The US media is so biased towards the affairs of disliked countries!
I see everyday reports and articles on places like Mexico, India, China, Vietnam, Mozambique, etc (counties generally considered "less" by uneducated causians) on how the economy is bad, the government is corrupt, the human rights violated, etc. Most of their "sources" are put out by extremist groups (they are not called "extrimist" because they are extrimist toward what the western countries' govt want to happen) that are highly biased and in accurate.
I live in China for 8.5 years and still go there regularly. I have seen a lot of progress and changes, but all the brain-washing US media is saying is how bad it is over there, what the govt is doing to the falongong sect, etc. why do they focus on this instead of on the positive changes - ie. the dramatic rising of the GNP, the spread of technology and the internet, the crack down on corruption, etc... They also report capital punishment in those countries like it is a great sin, etc, but texas and the bush regime does it just as frequently! they think that the media could successfully brainwash people into believing these biased stories, adn they have been successful so far. Therefore, the opinion of people on these coutnries are stuill based on 70's conditions.
This world is filled with hypocirsy. I hope that I will be able to keep in mind that the truth is somewhere in the middle. :disgust:
