The UPS waiting game.. So how do you miss your packages?

An unwritten rule says, "If you want rain, wash your car."

A new one should say, "If you want your package, don't take a shower."

I swear.. what is it with UPS that causes me to miss my package almost every time? I hear a knock and RUN to the door.. and the truck is driving off. Or, after sitting on my chair in close proximity so I can hear a knock for hours, I decide to take a 2-minute shower.. Boom! Package gone.

I typically leave a note that says, "Hey Mr. UPS, Knock LOUD! I am home!" But if I do that, thinking it would solve all my package problems, my package gets delayed. Why me?!

I get about 1 out of 10 packages on the first day the delivery is attempted. The UPS office is 30 minutes away from me in heavy traffic and I hate to show up there between 6:30 and 7:00pm to get my package.. so I usually don't even try.

Getting packages is hard.

/me wants new AGP X800XL 256mb card so can play X3: The Reunion at more than 20fps.

lol, ups will let you redirect so when you work 40 miles away from home and newegg will only ship to address linked to cc you can redirect it to work the 2nd day :)

Fedex is who I am frustrated with, I have to usually go there to pick it up.

You can usually sign a form that lets them just drop it off at your place without a signature... we have this arrangement with fedex. UPS always drops my home packages off at work though, so I win either way!

instead of leaving a note of "KNOCK LOUD" make it "LEAVE THE PACKAGE"

it works for me

Lol...happens to me all the time. Wait around all day for the ever important package to arrive...leave for 10 minutes to go do something, come back and there is a note on the door saying they tried to deliver your package.

Sometimes (depends on the driver and area you live), you can leave a note on the door telling them its ok to leave the package or to put it around the side of the house or something. Seems to work about 50% of the time.
