The President is weeks or months behind the response needed of a Commander in Chief..

Tax breaks for billionaires needed to be paid for. It's obvious many programs have been gutted, then on top of that, turned over to incompetent sycophants'. We are seeing the results sadly. What worries me even more is what other parts of government have been gutted. How are you conservatives liking small government now?

Elections have consequences. We elected an incompetent criminal president and now when we need someone to do the job he's just not capable of it.

An obviously incompetent president that's choked and can't lead in times of existential national peril has been exacerbated by the irrational choices he's made toward what protections for The People he chose to gut (and why) and the dubious qualifications he's required of those folks looking to work for him.

The silver lining surrounding this dark black cloud of a viral crisis is the fact that it has again, in a very blatant and obvious way, ripped away the facade, the skin thin vernier of a disguise that Trump has been wearing in order to keep himself in office and his base under his clenched fist.

This threat that our nation now faces could have been Trump's finest hour. Instead, it's been his worst nightmare, worse than his pondering over the possibility of the Senate being taken over by the Dems.

A politicians number one skill is getting elected. A politicians number two skill is getting re-elected.
The vast majority of these people do not know how to solve problems. They maybe went to law school and have a basic understanding of how the constitution is supposed to work, but most of them are career political workers who've never actually accomplished anything real in their lives. They do not know how things get done outside their office. They know how to smile and wave and feed their voters bullshit so they can stay in office and smile and wave and shovel bullshit.

Donald is particularly bad in that he isn't even a career politician, so he keeps saying the wrong things and fights with his advisors and only hears what he wants to hear. He is a master con man, which is why 62 million Americans voted for him. But normally a con man disappears after the con is over. He stuck around, spewing hate and stupidity every day. Now we have a real problem that needs a real leader and he's obviously in over his head (which by the way is what some of us were saying was going to happen someday, just you wait and see).
The worst part is a normal dumb person would defer to some sort of expert and let them advise or even take over. Because Donald is so full of himself and constantly needs his ego massaged he won't even do that much. Since he already beat impeachment he thinks he's untouchable, and I have to wonder at what point does congress step in and remove him for incompetence, and how does that process work?

A good politician knows to ask experts and take their advice. Trump knows more than any expert on any subject.

Who needs enemies when you have republicans in power?

This is like Trump's own Katrina plus the Iranian Hostage Crisis thrown in. The harm to the country is significant and very regrettable, but this clusterfuck of criminal incompetence mixed with no accountability couldn't happen to a nicer piece of shit.

Sure GOP is screwing Americans again, but at least they're trying to enrich themselves off the crisis. This country is fucked as long as we keep putting republicans in office.

Ever notice how bad things happen when a republican is in office. I said this was going to make Katrina look like a picnic and I've been right so far. At least Bush doesn't have to worry about being the worst president when it comes to reacting to a disaster and he had 2 major ones during his time in office.

It's times like these we need a leader to lead, set an example and take resposibility for everything that happens. We need someone humble enough to know when to let the experts step in instead of taking credit for the good and passing blame for all the many fuck ups. Hell even Bush knew he should get a general to take over during Katrina so things actually got done.

At least Bush had the civilian staff to lean on. Trump has fired the people who knew anything and, at best, replaced them with nincompoops.

Honestly. My company is working closely with DHS in this crisis, and they have no idea WTF to do. It's chaos and bullshit at the top levels. They are dithering and crucial things are not being done in a timely way.

We create what we fear. We fear to know what we feel so we create the conditions that force us to feel exactly that which we fear. Como fears the madness that accompanies fear and fears to agitate it and help it to fruition. De Blasio knows it is already too late. When conservatives face judgment on how to respond to crisis they stick their heads in the sand. What they fear is that you lack a sense of personal responsibility and everything they do will be to control you not act responsibly themselves. This is why the rich build walls with guarded gates. They know all too well who they are so they know in their guts you are the same. The cries for help from the helpless to a conservative sounds like the call for pillage and rape. The slavers fears slavery.

If you want to see something fucking depressing:

fckme.png

If we were just having straight exponential growth in deaths this graph of the logarithm of death rate would be a line. It's fucking curving up though the last few days. These death numbers have a time delay of around 2-3 weeks from infection so if you want to see how ineffective our national "pandemic is a Democratic hoax" policy was, there it is right there. This is going to be catastrophic.

The logarithm of Italy's deaths has never had the kind of increase in slope you're seeing on the American graph.

(see the graph on deaths, switch to logarithmic scale).
