I can't beleive this. If I were running UN opperations there I'd have heavily armed gaurds, APCs, and helicopters all over the place. And I'd shoot to kill anyone who attacked my base. :|

East Timor is not Vietnam, but there is a cost to peacekeeping missions. Canada has been involved in every UN peacekeeping mission and has alot of experience. On occassion things like this happen. I'll agree that the UN needs to be better prepared for action, just look what happened in Rwanda where they were warned for months beforehand that a massacre was immiment.
