im looking for a few things, hopefully at a good price, but again im willing to pay for superior products

1. an all around technician's toolkit with a set of general purpose tools: screwdrivers of various sizes, pliers, wire strippers, crimpers, allen wrenchers, testers, etc. etc. the works, in a professional carrying case

2. a single high quality multipurpose screwdriver capable of accepting multiple bits, magnetized bit end, telescoping screw retriever, ratcheing capability, bit storage with multiple common bits etc etc. other features ive seen are the ability to bend to fight tight spaces, built in led lights, etc. looking for basically the ultimate single screwdriver in features

3. a complete bit set with all sizes of flathead and philips one would need from standard computers to tiny laptop screws. also bits for hex, star, triwing, fourwing, all those security bits, etc. etc.

4. nice set of 'jewelers' or laptop screwdrivers for many if not all of the smaller screw types in all the philips, flathead, triwing, star, nonsecurity or security screwtypes etc.

i also hate soft metal. i hate it when my screwdriver strips a screw, but i think i hate it more when screws strip my screwdrivers. this especially happens when using smaller jeweler-type screwdrivers the screwdriver tips themselves often seem to strip away on a philips head for example, rending the screwdriver useless. so quality metal on those tiny screwdriver heads and bits is important (im sure this is all a matter of relative metal softness... if the screw is soft and the driver is hard, then the screw gets stripped, if the driver is soft and the screw is hard then the driver gets stripped. id rather lose the screw than lose my tool :()

im also on the lookout for quality useful stand-alone tools that are nice and portable, like those folding allen wrench sets or a single mini screwdriver that has perhaps two ends with common heads or better yet has some type of bit storage with mini-replaceable bits

i also need a good soldering iron with replaceable tips and a good soldering station, but perhaps ill leave that for another post...

ok ill check sears :) but i hate paying retail :p also sears seems like a good place for screwdrivers, but for a technicians toolkit with other stuff like desoldering pumps etc would sears be the place to go?

Best I've found is a ratcheting screwdriver w/ bit storage & magnetic tip. Saw one that had a light... but no ratcheting. Given up and just have the screwdriver and a maglite nearby. Also have a extending mag-tip for getting those fallen screws!
