This is the best iPhone comparo I've seen so far. The presentation makes it very easy to see the differences. Just look at the bazillion side-by-side picture slivers in there.

The ultimate iPhone camera comparison: How does the iPhone 6s camera compare to every other iPhone generation?

In this follow-up post to my previous iPhone comparisons, I present a 9 iPhone comparison from all iPhone versions taken with Camera+ including: the original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and the new iPhone 6s, in a variety of real-life situations to test each iPhone camera’s capabilities.

Each year I do this comparison, and each year I am impressed at how much the iPhone camera technology has improved. The iPhone has made it easier to capture and share our memories. Each new phone gives us a better tool to capture better quality images and create incredible photographs.

The improved sensor, software updates and new A9 processor on the iPhone 6s has made this camera the best yet. There is an apparent increase in the speed of auto focus and improvements to colour accuracy, details and sharpness, especially in low light.

PS I’m still waiting for an adjustable aperture ;)

The 6s fares worse in low light than the 6, thanks to the increase in megapixels. Aside from that, I can't really tell the difference between the two.

IMO, the 4 camera was more accurate in certain colors that the later iphones. The 4 and 4s were really the game changers for taking phone cameras serious.

The 4 was a major improvement, but as far as cameras went, I still thought they were at best mediocre. And low light was awful. I was more impressed with the 5.

To put it another way, with my 4, I used it occasionally, but usually used a point and shoot.

With my 5s, I usually use my phone, so I stopped carrying a point and shoot around.

Never got to use my 5 camera. There was a bunch of dust particles in the lens and as I was on the phone talking to apple about it the phone dropped and smashed in on the upper left corner. The camera lens just shattered. I litterally laughed out loud and told this to the apple genius. He laughed as well but I ended up tossing it in a microwave and had some fun. Held off on iphones in general but I set up tons of apple devices for my users and play around with each new device for a few weeks before I hand them off. Been playing with a new 6s. Overall decent if not a bit heavy for my liking.

I had almost forgotten just how bad the camera was on my 3G. The one on the 4S was a godsend.
