I'm with you Sugadaddy. I'm all for finding a better cooling solution, but whatever happened to being neat? When you factor in the fact that you're case will become 4-5 inches wider it's a no go. For me at least. If one of you gives it a shot though keep us informed.

he should've just gotten an antec. all the money he "saved" to get a cheaper case is now being wasted into making it cool. not to mention that he did a half-assed ghetto job. what a waste. :disgust:

Another way would be to take one from a car's HVAC system (which is already 12V w/ typically 4 speeds), cut a hole in the side of your case for an inlet, then just tweak the airflow adjusting the size of the holes in various places in your case.

The side of my case has perforations, I used masking tape to block certain perforations and allow the remaining ones to be used for exhaust.

man, that sounds like a great idea, but i just have a few problems:

1) that blower shore is expensive @ 50 bucks i think?
2) how do you wire that thing to your comp? especially if you want to control the speeds?

$47 on a fan? No thanks. I don't think you'd see that huge a benifit from jsut sticking a gigantor fan on your case if its already flowing well. Volume will only help so much. I'd rather put that $50 toward building a water cooled machine.

Also look for fans from copy machines--these are more compact and come in different shapes. Electronics surplus stores often have them.

That is so trick its well worth the $50.. People will see that and know you mean business.

So the next step would be??... mount the giant fan directly onto the heatsink?

I've been considering tests of using a box fan instead of a case side. That way I get about 7500mm fan action!
