Nations are born by the success of individual people. Cities are born around a successfull farmer.
Those of you that wish to treat everyone equally, need to remember that it is those unequal people, that develop cities and nations.

I do not want to treat everyone equally, if it means what I think you mean by it. We all have a responsibility to judge and be judged, to reward the good and punish the bad when appropriate.
But I think what you need to remember is if nations are born by the success of individuals, then the success of individuals depends greatly on the polity of society. We need law, especially the right kind. Cities and nations are not built in a vacuum and they are not built in a state of nature, ie, a state of "war." They are built when people come together and form political systems... and the better the political system the better individuals will fare.
