SNOHOMISH, Wash. - Sheriff's deputies have arrested the husband and brother-in-law of a woman who was found beaten to death Monday in her home in Snohomish County.
Sheriff spokesman Rich Niebusch said the 25-year-old woman's husband called 911 Monday morning to report finding his wife dead in their home in the 14100 block of 50th Southeast.
There were "obvious signs of trauma" to the body, Niebusch said.
Detectives spent hours searching the scene for evidence and interviewing friends and relatives. On Tuesday morning they arrested the woman's husband for investigation of second-degree murder.
The man's brother was arrested for allegedly trying to help cover up the crime. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of witness tampering.
Both men are expected to make their first court appearance Tuesday afternoon.
Niebusch said the couple had no known history of domestic violence.
The name of the woman who was killed has not been released.
