GOD!

I want this movie on DVD NOW. I want to see those dang ladders raising up during the last fight, and that AWESOME bass that plays during that scene. One of my favorite scenes in movie history.

too bad...watch more movies.

Yeah the movie sucks compaired to the book, the movie cuts out alot of important parts...I guess sucks is a strong word as if it did remain true to the book you would be in the theater for a week not just nine hours when the trilogy is over....

I must say while the book was a little long, it was well worth the read (well I got the book that had all three books in one, and I read the hobbit before so it was all in all a great tale)

I am debating whether or not it is worth reading the Similarian or whatever it is by him....oh well it is either that or back to Stephen king.

Pretty good movie, to bad it was not the story as told by Tolkein!

Too bad they couldn't find people who would sit through a 10 hour movie and get another $500 million added to their $300 million budget...

I love Tolkien and I'll be the first to admit watching the book translated word for word on screen would be boring as sh*t. This is a great adaptation.

Yeah, i have to agree. I can't wait until the DVD is out. You can get the DVD screener that's around, great quality if you can find the DVD-R copy. I'm hoping they'll release a DVD extended version as well.

They are...the extended editition will come out in november. It was a much bigger undertaking compared to the FOTR extended edition. The FOTR EE had 30 extended CG shots, two towers has 150 extra CG shots. This leads one to believe that a lot of the extended scenes involve Gollum and Treebeard. Very very exciting 😀

I just downloaded the DVD since I never saw it in theaters.

Overall, I have to say I didn't like it as much...but I'm still buying both DVDs when they come out [like I did with FOTR!]

EDIT: There is a DVD rip for download, but it has 'For Your Consideration' popping up on the screen every 10 minutes or so (its an Academy Awards screener DVD...each member of the Academy gets one...I bet Lucas leaked it!!!)

just download it, if your going to buy it anyways when it comes out, no big deal.

Download it from where? 😕

Usenetservers, at alt.binaries.dvd.

Downloaded the DVD-R screener a few weeks ago. 2 DVD at about 3.8 GB each. MPEG-2, 448kbps, Dolby Digital 5.1

Here is a screen capture. 😉
