The Tuniq's bundled fan controller

Hey guys,

I set up my tuniq and have no clue how the bundled rheostat works. It has a weird socket shape two pin male connector and the tuniq's fan has a 3 pin female. How am I supposed to use this thing?
I'm kind of worried because both the bios and speedfan report 0 rpm for the cpu fan, but I know the fan works.

TIA,
Darren

Thats no so bad - my tuniq fan was installed wrong from the factory, so it chewed up its own wires , then broke......... try core temp.

Ouch, speakerbox. Did you RMA it with Sunbeam?
I think my cpu is so cool that the motherboard turns off the fan. It idles at 30C. When I disabled motherboard fan control, it ran at the full 1900RPM. Orthos never got my CPU past 50C, but I'm only running stock speeds. Then antec 900 200mm fan fulls heat right out of the top.

Still trying to figure out how the fan controller works though, there's gotta be some really simple thing that I'm overlooking...

Um there should be 2 cables coming from your stock fan. A small black one about 6 inches long that goes to the rheostat. Then the longer about 18 inch long 3 pin fan connector.

Look closer around the base of your HS for a small black wire its hard to spot since the bulk of the length is on the rheostat end not the Tuniq end.

Thanks a bunch, i found it 🙂 The cable was tucked up in one of the fins, hadn't noticed it before.
