I like Al Franken, not as a font of intellectual truth, but because he does manange to hit on a few interesting points...but in a funny way. I come away from reading one of his books chuckling, his section in Lying Liars about "splotchy" O'Reilly was highly amusing. Even if I leaned right, I'm not sure I could read the equivalent kind of books from righty authors. Mostly because there aren't any...Savage and Coulter and the like are the closest thing, but instead of funny, I get this sense of boiling rage. The few times I've read books like that, I get this impression of a bunch of people getting ready to set up gas chamber and concentration camps. Ok, that might be stretching it a little, but their comments seriously cross the line from amused observations to lunatic ranting, Coulter especially.

Franken's got a new book called "The Truth?"

I guess he really IS a comedian ;)

The guy's third rate... I mean, talk about a bore. At least M. Moore's got style.

I'm about 3/4 the way through Truth. It's pretty funny, but depressing. Most of it I've heard or read before, not much new. I didn't know about Delay and that island country that makes US stuff, Saipan? Delay was against any probes into forced labor, selling girls into prostitution and forced abortion. He was well funded by the businesses, went on trips there to play golf. When Republicans and Democrats decided to look into the reports, Delay shut it down in the House. Nice family values guys.
