Funny why derm is one of the hardest residencies to get. b/c you get the license to steal while working great hours.

You obviously no nothing about the residency hierarchy. Dermatology is at the bottom with radiology and psychiatry. It's easy compared to surgery residents, nephrology, neurology, and pretty much every other residency.

How is this condition treated?

Gentle shampooing with a mild shampoo is helpful for infants with cradle cap. Mild corticosteroid creams and lotions, or anti-fungal topicals such as ciclopirox or ketoconazole, may also be applied to the affected areas of skin. Adult patients may need to use a medicated shampoo and a stronger corticosteroid preparation. Non-prescription shampoos containing tar, zinc pyrithione, selenium sulfide, ketoconazole, and/or salicylic acid may be recommended by a dermatologist, or a prescription shampoo, cream gel, or foam may be given. As excessive use of stronger preparations can cause side effects, patients should follow their dermatologist?s advice.

Thanks TT, they're trying all that stuff... I'm thinking it's not what they think it is though. I have an appointment today after work so I'ma voice my concern.

My rant...

I don't know about all dermatologists...but I know mine sucks. I'm starting to think that my dermatologist is just the drug companies b|tch. Last time I went there, I just wanted more persprictions for the stuff I already had. She gave me that elidil stuff (I don't have eczyma) and retin-a (I feel my acne is relatively well under control) I just didn't bother to fill the perscriptions, since my insurance only covers like half of that stuff anyway. I'm not paying $60 for a tube of crap I don't even need.

Frankly, if I could legally write myself perscriptions, I would. This place I've been going to I'm NOT going back too. Their administrative staff is terrible. When I went to make an appointment the woman about screamed at me when I tried to make an appointment on friday when apparently they are closed. I guess they like to roll around in their money over a nice 3 day weekend or something, I don't know. Next time I'll be sure to use my mind reading powers to figure that out.

Then the last time I went I had to tell them my address THREE TIMES before they finally recorded it correctly. The first time I called them and they asked me, so I told them my new address and phone number and setup an appointment. Then they called my parents to get my phone number, called me and asked for it again. I was like "I already told you this stuff" "Oh, it wasn't entered into the computer" I was thinking...then why did you ask? Do you just like wasting my time? And she acts like she was doing me some big favor in "tracking me down" when she is really just cleaning up her mistakes. Then when I went in for the appointment they asked me AGAIN! I could do a better job drunk off my a$$ than that girl could.

To top it all off I waited an entire hour past my appointment time to get seen, despite being 15 minutes early. Then she rushes me through the whole appointment because some patient came in late, and now she is behind. Some one came in late? Make them wait. I was ON TIME. WTF. Why should I and everyone else wait an hour that I could have been at work getting paid because some one else was to damn lazy to make it to their appointment on time. I understand doctors I busy, but this is a dermatologist, not a neurosurgeon or a cardiologist...no one is going to die if their mole doesn't get frozen off right when they come in.

Thats the last time I'm going there, they are crap. I'm going back to my primary care guy and getting a refferal to somewhere else, even if it is a PITA.
