Congrats.. I do believe I predicted in the thread Cad quoted that you would get a new one in no time.. Its amazing that you could pull it off, get more money, given how **cough** horrible the economy is..

Speaking of the bad economy. The contract I was on got rebid and the company i was working for lost. The company that won the contract move the work to virginia. So last thursday there were 6 developers out of work. Less than a week later, 1/2 of us have found new work. This morning I accepted a position for more money, shorter commute and I will probably get my own office:)

You guys are obviously in a niche market job wise.

Without giving away the Companies involved what is the Job description???

We were working for a large defense contractor. Monday I will be private sector C++ programmer. I anticipate that the other 3 will not be far behind on finding work. Their skills sets are java, oracle and test manager.

5 weeks to the day ;)

being in Michigan, EVERYTHING is based on the auto industry, we were one of the first areas to suffer, yet one of the fastest to recover, I dont know about the rest of the country, but the two markets I was looking in for jobs (Central Ohio, and Detroit, MI area) Columbus is doing pretty well, tons of jobs, the ecenomy there seems to be driven by the federal govt though since they have a lot of offices there. Detroit is picking up pretty good, the Big 3 arent as stingy these days, and are actually in a race to develop new cars, tech, etc, not to mention they are trying to promote all thier new model years, so they are spending money, and even non-auto sectors get a boost from all the money thats getting pushed around.
