A pet project of mine just hit a pretty good milestone in playability and stability. Site has its own forums, or just post here; let me know what you think. Note that Roguelike games are, traditionally, pretty punishing; don't be surprised if it kicks your ass hard.

The sad thing about the game requiring a number pad is that I developed it for a while on my laptop, for which I had to buy an external pad. And yet, somehow, it never occured to me that the end users might have a similar problem. ^_^

An upcoming version will have alternate key layouts.

I found that I was better barehanded than I was with a weapon. At which point does that change? Also, at which point do you start getting spells? I only got as far as getting a couple of runes before dying on level 3 or 4

Might I suggest a arrow pad layout on the screen we can click on. If not, base the keys around F or J because of the nub or indent on the keys.

BTW looks nice.

that's a pretty big 'Play' button ya got there.

It does have the VI-style keys now, due to popular demand. They take some getting used to, but they're actually not too bad.
