The time has come

I'm in the mood for a change since I been with F@H for over a year. I am in the mood for another DC client. I have some requirements though:

1. Stable

2. Profit isn't made from the direct results.

3. Good, understandable cause.

4. Easy to install and self managing. I have 3 computers that are ran through VNC and only have power and Ethernet running to them.

5. No Mini-Teams preferred. I just never got the idea of them. I feel user vs. user is more fun when it comes to stats. This isn't a requirement though.

I will do boinc but the more I read into it, the more it seems troublesome. Maybe I'm wrong. I prefer health related projects but might spread to other relms.

I'm a fan of Find-A-Drug right now, the client is pretty good, don't know if it meets condition #2 tho. 🙁.

This is the main reason I haven't jumped on it by now. I feel if they make a profit from my use, then I need a share. 😉

Who benefits from the projects?

"Find-a-Drug operates on a not for profit basis. This means that all revenues (including any royalties from the sales of any resulting drugs) in excess of costs will be donated to research. "

Rabidjade, it may be off topic, but are you planning on putting NetDimes back on those computers? The RA has dropped participation to a single person, so there are no more mini-teams. Plus, you were really helping out the cause! Either way, Im happy with your participation in this great DC community.

I'm done with Dimes. I was having problems with it anyways and had to uninstall it on a few systems because it was crashing the network.

Simple, to-the-point, no profit, legitimate science, no WU's to download, well behaved client, small results upload, and lots of

That looks like a cool project!

I got to go on a tour of SNS early this spring and it is some really amazing stuff going on. Even though this project is different they do share some similarities.
