I like how they show the task manager during games...even if you don't see a huge difference in fps due to the game being GPU-bound somewhat, or the game not fully utilizing each core, it shows that lots of games are well on their way to being multithreaded monsters.

UE3 is used for a ton of games that have or will come out, & it certainly uses four cores at least, as i've seen with the UT3 beta, not to mention their Bioshock benching.

Bring on Penryn!

Speaking from a gaming aspect only it just reinforces my idea of buying a E6750 now if you must absolutely need to upgrade and then buy the new quads when they come out. Or hold out altogether for the new quads. Just not enough games to take advantage of the quadcores right now and the E6750 wasnt that much behind the Q6600 where it was behind it which wasnt that often. By the time the new Intel quads come out and the become affordable maybe we'll have enough games to support buying one. I'm thinking sometime in 2008 will be the year people will start mass migrating to quadcores. Just my thoughts anyway.

I like the method of calculating power where given a single task they calculated total energy used by integrating the power over time. This solves the argument where people are saying that you can actually 'save' power by finishing a task faster and enter an idle state again.
