I bought a scale off Amazon and by default it displays weight in that faggoty stone system they use in the UK. By far the stupidest measurement ever invented.

NPR is behind the shutdown ... check thru this about half way down. This & Pres. Ford's term expired before the nominees were appointed by Congress.

For what it is worth Satenig St. Marie (a still living nominee to the USMB) is a friend of mine. She is a little withered up old lady, but a very nice person.

Isn't it ironic that the person criticizing our system of measurement lives in a country that uses stones (yes, fucking stones) to weigh a person?

So hal, is there a special forum brits go to that lists topics to troll Americans with, or does the propaganda the bbc spews out give you the ideas?

Listen. Most of the world drives on the wrong side of the road, but you don't see me whining about it.

No, most of the world drives on the right side of the road. The lesser half drives on the wrong side.

As much as I hate that this is a HAL thread, the imperial system makes no sense. I think the US will switch to Metric for all things scientific, if you argue we haven't done so already. Thank god we use SI-prefixes for clock speed frequencies and storage capacities.

Can you imagine buying a computer overseas and having to convert units to get a solid understanding of the specs?

In the US, it was actually really close to happening. I remember back in the 70's, all the highway speed limit signs were half-converted. You had the MPH speed on top and the KPH speed below it, which lasted about a year. Anyone else remember that? People would see 88 and haul ass, get a ticket and complain that they were doing the speed limit. Worked about as well as one could expect.

Peace
