I was watching a clip tonight about a parasite that starts out in an ant's head. It basically turns the ant into a zombie. Eventually it has the ant climb onto the tip of a blade of grass and hang there for up to 8 weeks, where a bunny may come along and eat it (since it's on the tip of the blade of grass and that's what bunnies eat). The parasite then goes into the liver, where it grows and lays eggs. Hundreds of eggs. Which snails eat. The snails eat the bunny poop and ingest these eggs. The egg irritates the snail, so it wraps it in mucus and basically sneezes it out. Snail snot (their term, not mine) just so happens to be an ant's favorite snack. Thus the cycle repeats itself as the parasite takes over the ant's brain.
