Leave her be, guys, and let her live her life. It's not your place to prove anything to her or to others on these boards.

i don't know whether that farce is more sad, or the fact that we all just witnessed a wedding on the internet

I was wondering how on earth Dezign ended up married in six weeks. So I did some research and came up with surprising results:

Best place to reserve a cheap 4/5 star hotel room in Vegas next weekend?

Do men wear engagement rings?

Recommend the best place to buy jewely in Los Angeles?

Questions for the married/engaged ATOT-ers...

I'm engaged. Thank you, ATOT.

You've got too much time in your hands. Go out and enjoy.

My girlfriend's got finals, I've read every single article on Tomshardware, Anandtech, CNN.com, CBC.ca, sharkyextreme.com, ars-technica.com, slashdot.com... I've checked all of my stocks, bank accounts and mutual funds... I've played more than 30 games of starcraft in the past two days... I'm all caught up on both my full and part time software jobs... there's no one to play badminton with... if I work out anymore my arms will fall off... and the prime minister isn't going to call an election probably for another few weeks, so my political experience isn't quite needed yet

SO, I read all the posts in dezigns thread and did this because I had nothing else to do. :)

The internet is a wasteland, my friend, testament to the depraved and base nature of the masses.

Said the man on an internet forum.

Starcraft: BNET is a wasteland of 12 year olds with really, really, really, really dirty mouths.

Anandtech isn't so bad. In fact, for the internet, it's a fairly civil place. It has its own system of government (moderators) to keep people from going crazy. :)

I admit, though, there's nothing better than going out with people you like. I take a long time to warm up to people, and it has to be THE RIGHT people. But when I do, I'd much rather be out with friends than online.

Agreed.

word

It was her choice to spill the beans on these boards.

And this was supposed to be *funny*, not some attack.

The fact that this generally accepted truth has to be clarified on an internet forum is slightly appalling. Shouldn't this be true for everyone? Assumed? I hope people here have more fun out with friends than on the internet. But if we need to start stating this to be a truth, then maybe I've been wrong to assume it to be true for everyone here.
