The reviewer from my newspaper said that the Tom Hanks character must be dummer than Forrest Gump for not trying to resolve a situation where 99% of normal people would be much more assertive.

that movie was lame. one too many corny moments. zeta-jones' character was a cheap throw-in. the
minor romance between the supporting characters was truly pathetic and just shows you how weak the core plot was for spielberg to throw in such a stupid device.

the best part of the movie involves its making. the dremaworks people actually paid the person whose life inspired this film a small amount of money. total unknown. the man's name is Merhan Karimi Nessari,
and he still lives paris' charles de gualle airport. has been there since 1988.

it's got to be the feel good movie of the decade. great great film. this one SOOO deserves to do better than Titanic.

I was in line to see this movie without knowing it (I thought it was for 'Dodgeball'). LOL

What a great movie. I saw it Friday. Funny, touching, great acting and direction.

Its take at the BO will improve as word of mouth spreads.

*SPOILER*

About the guy not getting the girl... the whole thing of it was that she went back to her other guy in order to get Hanks his pass... so in a way she wanted to see him happy (especially after crying about the story with his dad).

I liked the ending, especially when the terrorists took over the airport, and it was up to one man, a foreigner with no home, to stand up against the evil terrorists and save the people in Terminal 1.

Nessari is at best mentally disabled and at worst a leech taking advantage the French government and the publicity. He has been offered French citizenship but he refuses to leave until he gets his "true identity". Sounds like he likes the fact that the airport doesn't charge rent to me.

Sounds to me like someone that has a beleif in something and isn't going to accept anything but what he believes he is entitled too. He was mugged and his papers were taken. The government could spend an hr to look up his papers and make new ones but instead they'd rather drop him liek a bad habit.
It's called conviction. stand up for what you believe.
Or maybe he really has just gone mental from being in there so long.
