Is it worth it?

I mean is it really that much better looking?

If so which 19" Sony would be a good choice? I know the NEC's main choice is the LCD1970GX but it is a little out of my price range. (Max I can spend is $450)

So does anyone own a monitor with this new tech? or have you seen one? If you have seen one was it very impressive? More impressive than say the 2005FPWs wide screen?

Thanks up front for any advice.

It just makes the monitor look a lot brighter & sharper.

There are many names for what Sony call X-Brite.
Toshiba calls it Trubrite
HP/Compaq call it BrightView
LG calls it FineBright
NEC calls it Opticlear

Some people claim there's too much glare, but in a normal lighting situation, there's very little if any glare, & the screen will look so much better IMO.

Mark my words, that tech will be used by pretty much every LCD manfacturer by next year, or for next summer.
Already, 90% of the mid-high end laptops have it, & i would foresee desktop LCDs following suit soon enough.
