Reading in many a posting here and many other sites about these fine folks that wish to "take the country back," and what not... I wonder what is they hope to achieve....

I'm not getting it. What is the mission of the "Teabaggers?" Are they honest enough to end programs that benefit them....?

They obviously want to cut Government spending and balance the budget.

But they don't want to cut Defense.
.. or Medicare.
.. or Social Security.
.. and they want extended tax cuts.

Maybe they just really suck at math?

Not to intrude on your crapfest, here, but you're both fuckwits.

The TEA Party movement is about going back to the time of small, limited federal government, coupled with increased states' rights, and, in general, fiscal responsibility.

Basically, it's libertarian-lite. They're not quite ready for the social liberalism necessary for a libertarian style of government, but they favor small government and fiscal conservatism.

Of course, making a rational post in a circle-jerk, obvious troll thread is a mistake, but then I'm slightly toasted so I don't care.

How could that work? In Auckland we just went from several regional councils to 1 big council because nobody could work together properly.

After Obama won in 2008 Fox News held open mike days around the country and these folks showed up. They decided that being on TV is fun so they just keep coming back. Once Fox finds something else to report on, the tea party will go back to watching TV.

Teaparty Movement: An attempt by the Republican Party to distance themselves from a disaster of their own making, using that disaster's anger, and yet not actually changing any of the policy that caused the disaster.

IOW: Just a Republican PR Campaign.

To bad the movement started during the last term of the Bush years after those in who originally started the movement were frustrated and angered over spending, ever increasing powers of the federal government and the Iraq war. It is funny how you guys on the left like to forget and distort history in order to demonize those who would challenge your nanny state vision of a massive all encompassing federal government which sucks up tax dollars like a giant black hole.

Actually, what we have seen since Reagan is a shift to the right in which the black hole sucking up all the dollars is the rich. The tea party in nothing but another tool created by the rich to keep the brain dead between them and any change in that. The tea party is a bunch of morons who are being bled to death turned on those who are trying to transfuse that blood back.

They're rednecks and Republicans, that's a rather rhetorical question. Trying to get Bush to do math is probably harder than ending World Hunger for example.

Miss the point much, toasted fuckwits? The OP and others posting know what the TP party stands for, wiping up shit. The question is why are they using coarse grade sand paper on a grinding wheel to do it. Why are these stupid assholes fucking themselves in their own asses? How stupid do you have to be to do that? I'm for limited government so I'm going to go shoot myself in the head. Many a slip twixt the cup and the lip, eh, fuckwits?

Most leftists can't understand how it started, only where its at now. Most rightists think the Tea Party is still in its original form when in fact its been hijacked. Matt Taibbi even spelled it out quite clearly in his most recent Rolling Stone article. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/17390/210904

So how far do they want to go back? The last time there was limited federal govt was before the great depression, during the time of robber barons. Or perhaps they want to back to 1860's during the black laws and codes? Or perhaps back to the pre civil war era? Or do they want to go all the way back to independence day?

I doubt even 1 so called tea party member can give a coherent response to this.

You are wrong my friend, I for one, has an secret longing for these Linptoners to actually get elected, I mean, they are talking about eliminating Social Security, kill off EPA, FDA, IRS shut down all of government etc. Man, I love to how what this country will come to when they actually carry out all their agendas, it will be a comedy show that's gonna end all comedy shows. I'm tired of arguing about this and that. Just let the teadrinkers go in and "fix" everything like they proposed ... just do it ... so they actually get the result they wanted and probably deserve and stop yelling into my ear day in and day out. so we can all return to watch some real news instead of tea party demo all day long!

They want to 'Take Our Country Back . . . '
Yeah, back to before the 60's, and those changes where the Civil Rights Movement and
the advancement of minorities became a threat to their perceived superiority status.

Insecure, cowardly, and semi-illiterate buffons - who can't think for themselves,
and have become sycophants to the likes of Limbaugh and Beck.

Bitter and petty, willing to accept false information from the likes of Rove, Palin, Angle,
Vitter,
and O'Donnell - and take a stance against their own best intrests, entirely out of spite.

These people even have the audacity to think that they are 'well educated' and willfully place
themselves above those who really are highly educated and come from some of the best
schools and colleges accross the country.

To take the words (and the wit and wisdom) of a college drop-out (Limbaugh) who failed
all of his college courses, over the actual accomplishments of well educated people,
and to prefer to accept their close minded self serving messages over those who really
are trying to make this Country better for all of it's citizens is truely amazing to behold.

My, my, my, the Angry Left is back! And the elections have not even kicked them out of office yet! I can hardly wait to see them froth at the mouth and paw futilely at the ground come November 3d.

Your bitching about the "angry left" is nothing more than a diversion. It is entirely appropriate to discuss fire hazards before a fire does happen to start. Pointing out the ignorance, stupidity, and general wackiness of the teabag candidates is no less an exercise in hazard management.

What's funny is you think believing in The Constitution, responsible representative government and freedom is somehow "zany". But then again that's the traits of a leftist
